Open Circle MCC: The Villages, Florida

God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth is moved, and though the mountains be swallowed by the sea, though the waters roar and be troubled…God is in the midst of the sea and shall not be moved! The Lord of hosts is with us; God is our refuge! Psalm 46

As we have all watched the advance of Hurricane Irma one of our many concerns in this unfolding event is our church family and our Sunday Morning Worship Service.  With concerns for safety in mind, we will not be having our Sunday School or Sunday Morning Worship Service this Sunday and we will be postponing our plans for this Sunday’s Invite a Friend to Church. We have rescheduled our Invite a Friend to Church Sunday for next month on Sunday October 15th.

Although we will not be having our Sunday Morning Worship Services this Sunday (September 10th) I will be at church this Sunday morning at 10:00 AM for a time of prayer asking for God’s divine hand of safety for our church family. Please know that if you email me your prayer request at that I will include them in my time of prayer on Sunday morning.

As your pastor I would especially ask you that as you have made preparations for the storm do not neglect to prepare spiritually for this storm. As I am praying at church, I would invite you to pray at home. As I am reading God’s Holy Scripture at church, I would invite you to read God’s Holy Scripture at home. Seek God’s divine presence in your heart, in your life and in your home. Have faith to believe that

“God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble.”

We want to see everyone safely at church after Irma has exited Florida and all of our lives begin to return to normal. Please take every precaution to ensure your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

After Irma has passed, please reach out to your other church family members and let each other know that you are OK.

Please share this information with your other church family members.

May God keep us all safely in the palm of God’s hand.

The blessings and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all,

Rev. Robert
