Open Circle MCC: The Villages, Florida

New Visitors

We know that it is intimidating to attend a church for the first time; this is why we want you to just relax. Read below to take some of the guesswork out of your first visit with us.

Common Questions

When and where does Open Circle MCC meet for worship?
Please click here for times and location.

What should I expect at church?
You can expect to find a group of warm, loving individuals—some of whom will be waiting close to the front door to welcome you in. Don't worry about coming alone; someone will quickly invite you to sit with them if you wish or you can choose to sit alone if you'd like. Your welcome is determined by what you want. Everything is optional and tailored to your comfort level.

You'll be given a name tag and invited into worship.

What should I wear?
Our church is about you, so please come as you are.

We're not one of those churches that says one thing and does another. You will find people wearing everything from shorts and tees, to jeans and shirts, to the rare-but-possible suit, so please come as you are comfortable. Some folks come on their way to the golf course, and others may be dressed to go on their way to other afternoon activities. If you like to get "dressed up" for Sunday service, you'll find some kindred spirits as well.

What are the services like?
Our Sunday morning service is in the style of blended worship.

"Blended worship has as its goal the joining together of the people of God in all their diversity, under one roof and in one service, to glorify God through the offering up of corporate praise. The term "blended" speaks of the artful weaving together of varying musical styles and other elements into a seamless tapestry which honors the Lord without alienating any particular group." ~Ron Man

You may love some of the service and not be so crazy about other parts, but your neighbor may love exactly the opposite from what you do. We make every effort to provide something in each service which is meaningful to everyone. If you don't come from a particular tradition or history of attending church, you're in luck; join us for worship, and experience everything fresh for the first time. Two things stay the same: unless there is a special musical presentation, there will be a sermon, and we celebrate communion (the Lord's Supper, Eucharist) followed by a personal blessing every Sunday; however, this celebration is optional if you do not wish to participate.
